Lucy's scenes in Algeria perhaps catch the most attention, but some of his most pleasing works are landscapes, heightened with vigorous pen-work, such as the present example. With its spire and four pinnacles, the form of the church seen to the left of this watercolour would be more commonly found in England than in France.
