Woman in Profile
Although at first sight perhaps having the appearance of a late 18th or early 19th century portrait of a fashionable lady, in the manner of a Romney of Emma Hamilton, for example, this rather fine oval watercolour was more likely made in the late 19th or even very beginning of the 20th century. As such, the drawing's context would be the Georgian revival, which reached its height in the Edwardian period.
