Barges on the Thames at Greenhithe
Barges on the Thames at Greenhithe
In 1932 Steer made a celebrated series of watercolours of Thames barges, with their distinct sails, on the lower reaches of the Thames at Greenhithe. In some of the works, such as this one, port buildings can be seen silhoueted against Steer's lyrically washed lght effects.
