Old Houses

Old Houses

£675

This drawing is not associated with a known etching, although buildings of a similar type can be seen in prints such as "The Prophet's House". The flat arrangement of walls and roofs, defined by strong light and shade, has an abstract quality in keeping with work by more avant-garde British artists of the 1930s. The drawing was included in the Joseph Webb Memorial exhibition in London, and subsequently shown in survey exhibitions in Paris, Copenhagen and Norfolk.
