Roast Chestnuts and sweet potatoes, Venice
Roast Chestnuts and sweet potatoes, Venice
The present work was lot 150 in the sale at Sotheby's of "The Arthur Mitchell Collection of Drypoints by Sir William Russell Flint", 25th October 1973, bought by P.H. Liechti, as were two other Flint drypoints listed on this website. It would appear that Mitchell concluded the present work was a unique proof of the second state of four, before the plate was cut down (he owned proofs of the other three states).
This print is signed in ink.
