A Gardener with a Hoe
A Gardener with a Hoe
In the 1820s and 1830s, Hunt painted a series of watercolours of gardeners and other rural workers, some of which were the subject of an exhibition at the Courtauld Gallery, entitled William Henry Hunt: Country People, 24th June to 17th September 2017. This watercolour, in which Hunt uses the brush as his drawing tool, a technique shared with a number of the exhibited drawings, can be added to this group of works.
