This large and significant watercolour, lacking some of its fugitive colour over time as is common with De Wint, is possibly the work of this title sold at the Studio sale at Christie's on 2nd March 1876, lot 64, sold for £21 to Permain. Another Road Scene was one of two works in lot 27, sold to Hogarth for £10.10.-, but the scale and finish of the present work would suggest it would have been sold as a single-work lot.
