Phil Greenwood RE

1943

Born in Dolgellau, Phil Greenwood was trained at Harrow and Hornsey Colleges of Art in North London, going on to teach and lecture in printmaking, deciding to make etchings full-time from 1971. A highly skilled colour etcher, producing sensitive and atmospheric landscapes, Greenwood became one of the most successful and recognisable of printmakers in the late 20th and early 20th centuries, showing many works at the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers exhibitions, and being one of the publishers Christie's Contemporary Art's (CCA) leading artists.
